Ceased in 2015, as a result of the merger of this committee and the Library Advocacy Committee.


2014-2015 Committee Goals

Contact and begin collaborating with local library associations within the MCMLA (South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Missouri, Colorado, Wyoming, and Utah) Region. 

If members of the committee have time and energy, the following or other actions could occur:

  • Develop talking points for Legislature Day to include with local Library Organizations
  • Participate in Legislature Day

All members are encouraged to recruit additional people to join with the committee on this goal, even if he or she is not a member of MCMLA or the MCMLA Governmental Relations Committee.

In 2014, an Ad Hoc committee was formed to discuss the Governmental Relations and Library Advocacy committees. 

As of October 2015, the Governmental Relations Committee has merged with the Library Advocacy Committee to form the Advocacy Committee.
